One of the most prestigious award shows is back! Despite several delays due to the devasting fires in LA, the 30th Annual Critics Choice Awards finally hit the stage on February 7, 2025, at the prestigious Barker Hangar located in Santa Monica, California. This award ceremony celebrates grand achievements in the realm of film and television. At Style Spur, we were glued to our screens and cheering on the winners—and the best dressed celebrities on the red carpet. What is the Critics Choice Award?  

The Critics Choice Awards are annual awards that are given by the Critics Choice Association (CCA). These awards are given by professional TV and film critics who understand the art of making movie magic. The first Critics Choice Awards were held in 1996 and since then it has become one of the biggest nights in the history of Hollywood.

How Prestigious are the Critics Choice Awards? 

One of the major reasons why the Critics Choice Awards are such a huge deal is because they serve as a strong indicator of which films and television series might end up winning an Oscar. Although it is a known fact that awards season controversy is a must in such shows, however, this year everyone just chilled out! As we take fashion quite seriously at Style Spur, we decided to pick our favourite looks from the 30th Annual Critics Choice and here they are!

For the “Wicked” movie, Cynthia Erivo was nominated for the Best Actress award, and Ariana Grande was nominated for the award of Best Supporting Actress. They are definitely serving fashion goals!

Nicole Kidman also made an appearance on the Red Carpet in a Boxy blazer Saint Laurent power suit moment. She is nominated for her phenomenal role in the drama series “Lioness”. Nicole Kidman is no stranger to award shows, as she attended the Critics Choice Awards 2024.

Angelina Jolie served Old Hollywood glamour in the best way possible with an elegant Elie Saab. Her role in “Maria” led to a nomination for Best Actress.  

Who has the Most Critics Choice Awards Now?  

Actors Daniel Day-Lewis and Russell Crowe both share the record for most wins in the Best Actor category with three victories each. As for the Best Actress category, Cate Blanchett holds the title with three wins, and six other actresses have won the highly exclusive award twice.
